Abac Kids - Armavir

Abac Kids in Armavir is one branch of a network of mental arithmetic (abacus-based calculation method) centers operating under Abac Academy across Armenia and abroad.

The method arrived in Armenia in 2016 through Narine Balayan and Diana Hovhannisyan, who set up the first center on Demirchyan street in Yerevan under the name "Abac." The academy says hundreds of students, in Armenia and outside it, now study through the network.

The academy runs an annual olympiad for its students. The 2026 edition took place on May 17, with the awards ceremony at Yerevan Park and competition rounds at the Tigran Mets hall of the Marriott. It drew 425 participants from across Armenia plus Georgia and Cyprus, with additional online entries from the US, France, Germany, Spain and Latvia. Children compete by age group and by mental-arithmetic difficulty level, and top scorers in the hardest levels receive cash prizes from the academy.

This branch is in the town of Armavir, in Armavir region, about 38 km west-southwest of Yerevan in a straight line.
