Privacy
What Places.am keeps about you, why, and how to have it removed.
Browsing without an account
- You can read every page without signing in. We keep no profile of anonymous visitors.
- Places you save are kept in your own browser, not on our servers.
- To stop abuse we count requests per internet address for a short time. Those counters are deleted automatically.
If you sign in
- We keep your email address and the name you choose. Sign-in is by a one-time code sent to that address; we never store a password.
- A cookie keeps you signed in on this device. It holds no personal details.
- Reviews are published under your name. Questions you put to Ask Places AI are stored without your name so repeated questions can be answered faster.
If you own a business
- To confirm a claim we keep what you submit as proof: a tax number, or the public social account you control.
- Card payments are taken by our payment provider. We receive the result and the last four digits of the card; we never see or store the full card number.
Statistics
- We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies in your browser and Google processes that data on our behalf.
Advertising
- English and Russian pages may show advertisements served by Google. They sit outside the ranked lists and never affect a ranking.
- Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites. You can switch personalised ads off in Google's Ads Settings.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for their choice before any advertising cookie is set.
Your choices
- Write to us to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, including your account and your reviews. We answer within 30 days.
