Abovyan Stadium

Abovyan Stadium is the football ground for the city of Abovyan, in Kotayk region, opened in 1966 with seating for around 5,500 — an all-seater design, so every spot is a bench, not open terracing. For most of its life it went by a different name, Kotayk Stadium, after FC Kotayk, the local club that played there.

FC Kotayk folded in 2006. The ground was renamed Abovyan Stadium that same year — it also appears as Vahagn Tumasyan Stadium — and ownership passed to Multi Group CJSC, a private company that carried out partial renovations rather than a full rebuild.
