Agarak Settlement

Поселение бронзового века "Агарак-1" · Ագարակ ավան

Agarak Settlement is a Bronze Age site on a volcanic-tuff cape above the Amberd river, in Aragatsotn region. It's protected today as a historical-cultural reserve, its ground shared by the neighboring villages of Agarak and Voskeat.

The reserve occupies a rocky outcrop cut into the tuff bedrock, right on the river's bank. Little else about it is documented publicly. No excavation reports, no displayed finds. For specifics on what's been found here, a local museum or heritage office in Aragatsotn is the place to ask.

The reserve is in Aragatsotn region, near the town of Byurakan, on the right bank of the Amberd river — roughly 21 km northwest of Yerevan in a straight line.
