Altitude 5165 association humanitaire Franco-Armenienne

Altitude 5165 is a French-Armenian humanitarian association headquartered in Vagharshapat, the city also known by its older name, Etchmiadzin. It traces back to Marseille, where volunteers organized aid after the earthquake of December 7, 1988, which killed close to 30,000 people and left 530,000 without homes.

The association says it has spent over 31 years working to improve conditions for Armenia's poorer communities. Its projects include a French dispensary (medical clinic) in Vagharshapat/Etchmiadzin, a medical imaging center and a separate French dispensary in Gyumri, and a dental dispensary in Vardenis. It also ran an oral-health prevention campaign and delivers material support — medicine, food and equipment — to those who need it.

More recently, the group has directed part of its work toward emergency aid for refugees from Artsakh.

Altitude 5165 is based in Vagharshapat, in Armavir region, roughly 19 km west of Yerevan in a straight line.
