Arch of Charenc

Арка Арарата (Арка Чаренца) · Չարենցի կամար հուշարձան

The Arch of Charents is a monument built in 1957, dedicated to the Armenian poet Yeghishe Charents. It stands at 1,500 meters elevation in the village of Voghjaberd, on the road between Yerevan and Garni.

Locals also call it the Arch of Ararat. It functions as a memorial viewpoint rather than a functional structure — an architectural folly built to mark the spot and frame the view toward Ararat. In 2003 it was added to Voghjaberd's list of immovable historical and cultural monuments, registered under number 6.52/7.

The arch sits in Kotayk province, in the village of Voghjaberd, about 11 km east of Yerevan as the crow flies.
