Armenian Alphabet
Армянский алфавит · Հայոց այբուբենի հուշարձան
This monument near Artashavan village, on the eastern slope of Mount Aragats in Aragatsotn region, is dedicated to the Armenian alphabet as its own subject — a rare case of a writing system getting a monument in stone. It was built in 2005.
Records on it are thin: no named sculptor, no dedication story, no additional structures noted. What stands is the alphabet monument itself, on open ground on the mountainside.
The monument is in Aragatsotn region, near Artashavan village and not far from Byurakan, about 28 km north-northwest of Yerevan in a straight line.
