Aruch Caravanserai
Караванатун · Քարավանատուն
Aruch Caravanserai dates to the 13th century, built to shelter travelers and their goods along a trade route near the village of Aruch. Today the structure survives as a protected monument, one of the archaeological sites clustered in this part of Aragatsotn province.
Little else about its layout or later use is documented. What remains is the fact of its age and its protected status.
The caravanserai sits in Aragatsotn region, near Aruch village, about 40 km west-northwest of Yerevan in a straight line.
