Avedisian School

Avedisian School offers a free, 12-year education program in Yerevan, covering the full span of schooling at no cost to families. On its own site, the school calls itself an eco school. It says its building runs on a solar system that supplies heat, hot water and electricity for cooling — a combination the school says hasn't been matched elsewhere.

The school also runs a greenhouse, which it describes as a research space rather than a standard plant nursery. IT classes for middle and senior students are aimed at training future programmers, taught, the school says, through project-based work rather than lectures.
