Berkaber Reservoir
Беркаберское водохранилище · Բերքաբերի ջրամբար
Berkaber Reservoir sits at around 650 meters on the Joghaz river in Tavush region, an earthen-dam reservoir put into service in 1980. The dam itself runs 1,275 meters long and 64 meters high, holding back a lake of 2.14 square kilometers with a maximum depth of 60 meters — a capacity of 45 million cubic meters, 43 million of it usable.
A pumping station once carried water from the reservoir into the main canals serving Noyemberyan and Ijevan, irrigating roughly 10,000 hectares of farmland. That operation has since been suspended.
Berkaber Reservoir is in Armenia's Tavush region, ~112 km north-northeast of Yerevan (straight-line).
