CENTAUR" ASSOCIATION OF HIPPOTHERAPY AND EQUESTRIAN SPORTS Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)

Centaur Association of Hippotherapy and Equestrian Sports is a non-governmental organization based in Aragatsotn region, chaired by Hasmik Hovhannisyan. It runs two therapy programs: horse-assisted therapy and dog-assisted therapy, both aimed at helping people with a range of physical and mental conditions through structured contact with animals.

The dogs used in its therapy sessions are former strays, rescued and trained by the organization rather than bred or bought for the purpose. Centaur's shelter also handles broader animal welfare work — treating sick or injured strays, arranging adoptions, and pursuing legal action against people who abuse animals.

Part of the group's stated mission is political rather than clinical: Armenia currently has no law against animal abuse, and Centaur says its rescue and public campaigns are meant to build pressure for one. The organization accepts patrons to support both the therapy programs and the animal rights work.

Centaur operates in Aragatsotn region; no specific town or coordinates are given for its location.
