Centre for Community Mobilization and Support

Centre for Community Mobilization and Support, known as CCMS, is a civic-advocacy NGO based in Alaverdi, Lori region, working on the environmental and public-health effects of mining and on organizing communities to respond to them.

According to its own website, CCMS has partnered with the Czech NGO Arnika on sampling work linked to mining's impact on the environment and human health. It describes running a three-day school on civic activism, holding public hearings in communities including Karaberd and Urut, and taking part in a project on local identity that involved a Polish volunteer. It also refers to a multi-stakeholder network focused on social protection.

CCMS is based in Alaverdi, in Lori region, about 103 km north of Yerevan in a straight line.
