Chess Academy of Armenia

The Chess Academy of Armenia was set up in 2002 on the initiative of grandmaster Smbat Lputian, operating under the Armenian Chess Federation and with backing from the state. Lputyan chairs the academy.

It runs training for students, organizes tournaments — including club team events and open competitions in towns such as Goris and Tsaghkadzor — and lists a roster of coaches. The academy also accepts donations toward tournament organization, sending top students to competitions, training camps, and administrative costs.

It's open Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 18:00.

The academy sits in Yerevan, roughly 3 km southwest of the city center in a straight line.
