Chgnavor Monastery

Chgnavor Monastery is an Armenian apostolic church dated to the 11th and 12th centuries. It stands about 1 km north of Tsater village in Lori, set beneath a sheer rock face on the side of a gorge.

There's no road access — the approach is a narrow footpath, which keeps the site quiet and largely unvisited compared to Lori's better-known monasteries.

The monastery sits in Lori region near the village of Tsater, roughly 90 km north of Yerevan in a straight line. Access from the village is on foot only, via a narrow path up the gorge slope.
