Chumov Lake
Маргалич · Մարգալիճ
Chumov Lake, known locally as Margalich, is a small body of water on the northern slopes of the Vayk mountains in Vayots Dzor. It covers about 1 hectare and sits at 1,996 meters above sea level, roughly half a kilometer east of the village of Martiros.
There's little more on record about it beyond its size and position — no legends, no built structures, just a small alpine lake holding its ground on the mountainside.
The lake lies in Vayots Dzor region, about 108 km southeast of Yerevan in a straight line, just east of Martiros village.
At nearly 2,000 meters, expect the lake and surrounding slopes to hold snow and cold conditions well into spring.
