Durn Parisosi
Дурн Парисоси · Դուռն Փառիսոսի
Durn Parisosi is a mountain pass in the Sevan mountain range, on the border between Armenia's Gegharkunik region and Azerbaijan, at 3,125 meters. It lies 5 km northeast of Geghamasar village, and about 20 km northeast of Vardenis. Records give it several other names too: Kari Parisosia, Shishkaya, and Sadanakhachi ("Satan's cross," from khachkar, or carved cross-stone).
A route through the pass connects the Sevan basin to the valley of the Shamkor river. It takes its name from a peak of the same name nearby, and Georgian sources also mention it, recording the name as Kari Parisosis.
The pass sits in Gegharkunik region, east of Yerevan, near Geghamasar village and Vardenis town.
At 3,125 meters, snow likely holds on the pass long after lower ground has cleared.
