Dzagavank

Зангаванк · Ձագավանք

Dzagavank is a small monastery east of Arinj village, in Kotayk region, standing on a hillside next to a cemetery just south of Getargel village. That closeness to Getargel gives it a second name, still used locally — Getargel St. Nshan.

Once a year, the monastery holds its pilgrimage day. It falls on the Sunday after Easter, and it's the one fixed date when the site draws visitors from the surrounding area.

Dzagavank sits in Kotayk region, near the town of Abovyan, about 9 km northeast of Yerevan in a straight line.
