English park
Английский парк · Անգլիական այգի
English Park covers 5.5 hectares in Yerevan's Kentron district, framed by Italy, Grigor Lusavorich and Movses Khorenatsi streets, a short walk south of Republic Square.
The grounds were laid out in 1850, though the park didn't formally open to the public until October 3, 1910. For a decade after that, until 1920, it remained the only public park in the city. It has carried other names since — Theatrical Park, and during the Soviet period, the Park of the 26 Baku Commissars.
It's open from sunrise to sunset, has a wheelchair-accessible entrance, and allows dogs. Card payment is accepted, and it's listed as suitable for children.
The park sits in central Yerevan's Kentron district, on Italy Street between Grigor Lusavorich and Movses Khorenatsi streets, just south of Republic Square.
