The Ervand Kochar Museum keeps a set of the artist's spatial paintings, a body of work found in just one other museum on earth: the Centre Pompidou in Paris. That alone makes this small museum a required stop for anyone tracking Armenian avant-garde art.
It occupies Kochar's own studio on Mesrop Mashtots Avenue and opened on June 22, 1984. Beyond the paintings, it operates as a research and promotion center for the region's historical avant-garde movement.
The museum is in Yerevan, Yerevan region, roughly 1 km north-northeast of Yerevan (straight-line).
