Gugarats Ridge

Гугарац · Գուգարաց լեռներ

Gugarats Ridge belongs to the Lesser Caucasus system and runs along the border of Armenia's Lori and Tavush regions. It stretches roughly 80 km north from the eastern edge of the Bovakar mountains.

The ridge forms a watershed: rivers on one side (Shnogh, Kistum, Marts) feed the Debed, a river to the north, while the Voskepar drains west into the Aghstafa. Its highest point, Dzharsar, reaches 2,245 m; the ridge averages around 2,000 m.

The ridge sits in Lori region near Haghpat, roughly 100 km north-northeast of Yerevan (straight-line).
