RA MESCS Shirak Regional Library SNCO

Shirak Regional Library SNCO runs public library services in Gyumri under Armenia's Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, as a state non-commercial organization (ՊՈԱԿ).

Its website describes a range of programs rather than just book lending: reading promotion under names like "Էջ առ էջ կրթություն" (page-by-page education) and "Գիտական հայացք դեպի գրականություն" (a scientific outlook on literature), a career-guidance track called "Մասնագիտական կողմնորոշում," and a legal-awareness program, "Իրավունքը և ես" (the law and me). For children there are puppet shows under series such as "Գրքի թևերով մանկության աշխարհ" (a childhood world on book wings) and "Հեքիաթին հյուր" (guest to a fairytale), alongside a summer school, a media-literacy course, and a podcast and audio library.

Recent posts on the site note a meeting with Armenian-American poet Armen Pashayan and the release of a book on the heroic epic literature of medieval Europe.

The library is in Gyumri, in Shirak region, roughly 88 km northwest of Yerevan in a straight line.
