History Museum of Gyumri

The History Museum of Gyumri opened in 2020 and occupies the first floor of a building on Vardanants Square. Its collection runs past 6,000 pieces, gathered over time rather than acquired all at once.

The holdings lean toward craft work — jewelry and silverwork feature heavily — alongside material tied to the city's theater tradition, including photographic equipment and a set of theater-related images. The city's music history also gets its own space in the displays.

The museum runs excursions by advance booking; a tour in Armenian costs 1000 AMD, with a Russian-language option also offered. It's open Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 to 17:00.

The museum sits in Gyumri, the main town of Shirak region, roughly 88 km northwest of Yerevan as the crow flies.
