ASPU

ASPU — Khachatur Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogical University — is Yerevan's public university for training teachers and education specialists. It offers bachelor's, master's and postgraduate programs, along with preparatory courses for applicants and continuing-education tracks.

Ten faculties divide the academic work: philology; history and social studies; primary education; biology, chemistry and geography; educational psychology and sociology; foreign languages; mathematics, physics and informatics; art education; special and inclusive education; and culture. University-wide departments cross these lines.

Beyond teaching, ASPU runs a research center and a chess-studies institute. It keeps a library and a history museum, publishes its own academic journals, and produces campus media — including Radio FAMA.

ASPU sits in Yerevan, roughly 1 km east-northeast of the city center (straight-line).
