Irind
Иринд · Իրինդ
Irind is a cone-shaped peak of volcanic origin, rising 2,051 meters at the southwestern foot of the Aragats massif in Aragatsotn region. It stands about 1 kilometer southeast of the village that carries the same name.
Older sources also record the mountain as Berglu or Berklu. The name itself is traced to Hayasa (an ancient culture predating Armenian statehood), from a root form Irit.
Irind lies in Aragatsotn region, roughly 50 km west-northwest of Yerevan in a straight line, just southeast of Irind village.
