ITKids

ITKids runs out of Gyumri, offering STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) courses for children. The academy's own summary puts the age range at 8 to 14, though the school's program listings elsewhere give it as 8 to 16.

The main course is a nine-month Python program: variables, conditionals, loops and functions first, then data structures like lists, tuples, dictionaries and sets, followed by file handling and error management. Alongside Python, the school offers classes in math, basics of 3D modeling, and graphic design. Teaching follows methods used by Coddy, an international programming school for children.

Outside regular classes, the school has run a handful of side events for students: a visit to Arminé's library, a meeting with video bloggers and with presenter and contemporary writer Ruben Yesayan, and an educational trip to Gyumri's MIT education center.

ITKids is in Gyumri, Shirak region, roughly 89 km northwest of Yerevan as the crow flies.
