Kayan

Kayan is a grill counter in Yerevan where the menu spells out, down to the gram, how much onion and herbs comes with each order — 190 g with a beef or chicken kabab (skewered grilled meat), a full kilogram alongside the pork cuts.

The pork side of the menu lists chalaghaj, papuk and mat (grilled pork cuts), plus beef lung-and-heart and veal fillet, each served with its portion of onion and herbs. There's also chicken wings and thighs with a choice of tomato or matsun (strained yogurt) sauce, shish taouk, grilled mushrooms, and sides such as fried potatoes, oven-roasted potato with lavash (thin flatbread), and grilled skewers of onion and herbs over charcoal. For something handheld, kars comes loaded with onion, herbs, ketchup, mayonnaise, hot pepper and fries; shaurma is wrapped in lavash, and there's a hot dog, both finished the same way. Coca-Cola, Fanta and Sprite are sold by the bottle.

Kayan is open 10:00 to 22:00 and takes phone orders for delivery.
