Kayan Fortress Tavushi Marz

Kayan Fortress is a ruin today, the remains of a military structure raised within the historical district of Dzoraphor. It sits in Tavush region, not far from Ijevan.

The record on it is thin. No date, no builder's name, nothing on its later use has come down to us — only that it stood here, defending this stretch of Dzoraphor.

The fortress lies in Tavush region, near the town of Ijevan, about 87 km northeast of Yerevan in a straight line.
