Central Bank

The Central Bank of Armenia is the state institution behind the dram. It sets monetary policy, watches over financial stability, and keeps the payment system running. Regulation and supervision of banks and other financial institutions falls under its roof, along with consumer protection and efforts against money laundering and terrorism financing.

It also puts currency into circulation — among recent issues, an investment coin called "Noah's Ark." The bank publishes its board decisions, press statements, reports, and research on its own site, along with lists of licensed financial organizations.
