Lake Arpi National Park
Национальный парк Озеро Арпи · Արփի լճի ազգային պարկ
Lake Arpi National Park is one of four national parks in Armenia, set up in 2009 to protect the highland basin around Lake Arpi in northwestern Shirak province. The park covers 250 km², all of it above 2000 meters on the Shirak-Javakheti plateau.
Two ranges frame the water. The Yeghnakhagh mountains run along the west side; the Javakheti Range closes off the view to the northwest.
The park lies in northwestern Shirak province, roughly 122 km northwest of Yerevan as the crow flies.
At 2000 meters, winters here run long and cold, so the warmer months are the more comfortable time to visit.
