Lake Sev, Syunik, Armenia

Lake Sev

Севлич · Սև լիճ

Lake Sev sits at 2,657 m on the southeastern slope of Mount Mets Ishkhanasar, split by the border between Syunik Province and Azerbaijan's Lachin district — though the greater part of the lake lies on the Armenian side. It's a freshwater lake with no outlet, meaning nothing drains from it; whatever water arrives stays.

The basin is small and round: about 1.5 km across, a 5 km shoreline, and a maximum depth of 7.8 m. Total volume comes to roughly 11.6 million cubic meters.

The lake lies in Syunik Province near Goris, about 160 km east-southeast of Yerevan as the crow flies.
