Machanents

Machanents is a cultural showroom in Vagharshapat's Echmiadzin district, on Shahumyan Street. It sells work produced at the Machanents cultural workshop, including carpets and rugs, paintings, ceramics, scarves, reliefs and sculpture.

The rug-weaving workshop behind the gallery was founded in 1996 and has kept operating since. Over the years it has trained dozens of people in carpet-making, some of whom went on to work professionally in the craft.

The gallery also runs an online shop, with categories for carpets, paintings, clay work and other pieces, alongside listings of individual artists.

Machanents sits in Echmiadzin, part of Vagharshapat, in Armavir region, about 18 km west of Yerevan in a straight line.
