MEGHRI STATE COLLEGE
Мегринский государственный колледж · Մեղրու պետական քոլեջ
Meghri State College trains students in mid-level vocational programs under Armenia's Ministry of Education and Science. The government founded it by decision No. 863, issued September 17, 2001 — an idea that had been discussed in the region since the 1970s and 80s.
It opened with three tracks: primary-school teaching, economics with accounting and audit, and avtopakanagorts (auto mechanic), a preliminary vocational program. A board oversees the college through a director; Tamar Hovanesyan holds that position now.
Meghri State College sits in the town of Meghri, in Syunik region, in Armenia's south.
