Mets Eghnakhagh

Мец Егнахах · Մեծ Եղնախաղ

Mets Eghnakhagh sits exactly where Armenia, Georgia and Turkey meet. It's the highest point of the Eghnakhagh mountain range, 9 km southwest of Shaghik village. The rock itself is Neogene volcanic material. Glacial forms remain in the relief here, and the slopes drop away steeply from the summit.

Altitude shapes the landscape. Lower down, it's mountain-steppe. Higher up, near the top, that gives way to mountain-meadow — alpine grassland.

The peak lies in Shirak region, 9 km southwest of Shaghik village, roughly 127 km northwest of Yerevan (straight-line).
