Mher Abeghyani Museum

музей Мгера Абегяна · Մհեր Աբեղյանի թանգարան

The Mher Abeghyan Museum opened in Vagharshapat in 1990, built around paintings and graphic works the artist gave to his home city. Abeghyan, recognized as a People's Artist, developed his style first in graphics during the 1930s and 1940s, then moved into painting while keeping the same visual language and expanding it over the years.

He worked across genres: landscapes marked by calm and stillness, still lifes done in bright, festive color, and portraits leaning toward the lyrical. For drawing he favored charcoal, sanguine crayon, and etching, but linocut was his preferred graphic technique, and this branch displays his oil paintings alongside rotating selections of his graphic work.

The museum is listed as suitable for children.

The museum sits in Vagharshapat, Armavir region, about 19 km west of Yerevan in a straight line.
