This is a house-museum: the home where poet Hovhanes Hovhanisyan spent many years living and writing, in Vagharshapat. Since 1948 it has operated as a branch of the Yeghishe Charents Museum of Literature and Art, based in Yerevan.
The building is listed among the historical and cultural monuments of Vagharshapat.
