Museum of Armenian Textile
Музей армянского текстиля · Հայկական տեքստիլի թանգարան
The Museum of Armenian Textile occupies a building at 5 Kalinin Street in Dilijan that counts among the town's oldest structures. It opened in 1979 as the Dilijan branch of the State Museum of Folk Art of Armenia, set up on the initiative of Hovhannes Sharambeyan, and it's listed among Dilijan's protected monuments of history and culture.
The collection runs to about 847 items: carpets and other ethnographic household pieces alongside work by modern Armenian masters and self-taught artists. The museum also hosts exhibitions of folk artists and painters working in different genres.
The house itself has a guest list worth noting — writer Hovhannes Tumanyan and poet Yeghishe Charents both stayed here.
The museum sits in Dilijan, Tavush region, roughly 69 km north-northeast of Yerevan in a straight line.
