Nairi Cinema
Кинотеатр Наири · Նաիրի կինոթատրոն
Nairi Cinema sits on the corner of Mashtots Avenue and Isahakyan Street, in Yerevan's Kentron district — the second-largest cinema hall in the city. Architect Gevorg Tamanyan folded it into an apartment building in 1952-54, one facade doing two jobs: homes above, a screening room below. Stand at that corner and you're looking at Stalin-era neoclassicism, all columns and heavy cornices.
The cinema itself is older than the address. Nairi has run since 1920. It only moved into this building once construction wrapped up in 1954.
It had been dark for years — how many, nobody has written down — before reopening in 2026.
Nairi Cinema is in central Yerevan's Kentron district, at the intersection of Mashtots Avenue and Isahakyan Street.
