Nansen Park
Парк Нансена · Նանսենի անվան այգի
Nansen Park sits in the first massif of Nor Nork, one of Yerevan's larger residential districts on the city's northeastern side. It takes its name from the street it borders, itself named after Fridtjof Nansen — the polar explorer and diplomat remembered in Armenia for his humanitarian work following the Armenian Genocide.
This is a local park rather than a destination in its own right: a patch of greenery serving the surrounding apartment blocks. There's little in the way of documented history or landmarks beyond its name and setting.
Nansen Park is in Nor Nork, northeast of central Yerevan, reached via Fritjof Nansen Street within the district's first massif.
As with most neighborhood parks in Yerevan, it's at its best in spring and summer when the trees are in leaf.
