The National Academic Theatre after Gabriel Sundukyan is Armenia's oldest modern theatre, founded in Yerevan on February 25, 1922. It opened as the country's First State Theatre with a staging of "Pepo," a play by the Armenian classical writer Gabriel Sundukyan, whose name the theatre carries.

Today it operates as a drama theatre and, per its own record, is the largest of its kind in Armenia.

The theatre sits in Yerevan, roughly 1 km southwest of the city center (straight-line).
