National Parliament
Национальное Собрание Республики Армения · Ազգային Ժողով
This is where Armenia's National Assembly meets, in a building designed by architect Mark Grigorian and finished in 1950. For its first decades it served a different government entirely: the Supreme Soviet of Soviet Armenia sat here before independence.
The shift in function came with the 1995 Armenian Constitution, which handed the building over to the newly formed National Assembly. It stands on Baghramyan Avenue, one of Yerevan's central streets, and remains the working seat of the country's legislature today.
The building sits on Baghramyan Avenue in central Yerevan, roughly 1 km north-northwest of the city center in straight-line terms.
