North Avenue

Running 450 metres long and a generous 27 metres wide, Northern Avenue is one of the few purpose-built pedestrian streets in central Yerevan. It sits in the Kentron district and forms a direct axis between Abovyan Street and Freedom Square, effectively linking the area around Republic Square with Freedom Square in a single diagonal sweep across the city centre.

Because it was built as a unified project rather than evolving organically, the avenue has a distinctly planned, contemporary feel that sets it apart from Yerevan's older streets. Its width and straight layout make it one of the more open, walkable stretches in the capital's core.

Northern Avenue is in the heart of Yerevan's Kentron district, within easy walking distance of Republic Square and Abovyan Street — most visitors simply arrive on foot as part of a central Yerevan stroll.
