Paytatagh
Пайтатап · Պայտաթափ
Paytatagh, also recorded as Naltoqyan, is a mountain peak in the eastern branches of the Gugarats range in Tavush region, reaching 1,979 meters. It sits about 6 km southwest of the village of Achajur.
The monastery of Makaravank stands on the mountain's slope, the one built feature tied directly to this summit in the record.
Paytatagh rises in Tavush region, near the town of Ijevan and southwest of Achajur village, roughly 100 km north-northeast of Yerevan as the crow flies.
At close to 1,979 meters, snow is likely to linger well into spring, so conditions on the upper slope can shift fast even when the valleys below are clear.
