Pushkini Lernantsk

Пушкинский перевал · Պուշկինի լեռնանցք

Pushkini Lernantsk crosses the Bazum mountain range in Lori at 2,037 m — and it's the tunnel bored beneath it, not the summit itself, that gives the pass its purpose on the map. It also goes by Bezobdal, Bzovdal, or Dvali.

A television tower with a meteorological station went into service here in 1963; it stands 181 m tall. Eight years later, on November 30, 1971, a road tunnel opened beneath the pass, connecting the Pambak valley to the Lori plain.

In 2002, Armenia's first wind farm began turning here, with a combined capacity of 2.4 megawatts.

The pass lies in Lori region near the town of Stepanavan, about 83 km north of Yerevan in a straight line.
