Proshi Kap

Proshi Kap is a gorge in Vayots Dzor region, lying about 2 km north of Vernashen village near the ruins of Proshaberd fortress. Local residents named it after that fortress. In Armenian it's also recorded as Gndevazi Kirch, or Gndevaz gorge.
Accounts differ on where Prosh's fortress actually stood — some place it near Gndevank monastery and Gndevazor village instead of Vernashen. The gorge lies east of the Merkasar peak.
The gorge is in Vayots Dzor region, near the town of Yeghegnadzor, about 84 km east-southeast of Yerevan in a straight line.
