Red Bridge, Yerevan, Armenia

Red Bridge

Красный Мост · Կարմիր կամուրջ

Red Bridge is a 17th-century bridge over the Hrazdan River, built of red tuff (a volcanic rock) in Yerevan's Noragyugh (new village) district. An earlier bridge on the same site was destroyed by the 1679 earthquake.

For nearly three centuries afterward, it stood as the only crossing linking Yerevan to the river's right bank, a role it held until Victory Bridge opened in 1945.

Restoration work began in 2023, funded by a private investor, and the bridge reopened in November 2025.

The bridge sits within Yerevan, roughly 1 km west-southwest of the city center (straight-line), over the Hrazdan River.
