Saint John the Baptist church

Saint John the Baptist church dates to the 7th century. Locally it's also known as Kuli zham ("Kuli's chapel" — zham being a term for a small church or hour of prayer).
Before the Soviet period, it served as the sole parish church for the village of Kaputan. It stood near the village's central spring.
The church sits in Kotayk region, near Abovyan town, ~17 km northeast of Yerevan (straight-line).
