Saint Michael the Archangel's Church, Gyumri

Saint Michael the Archangel's Church is a Russian Orthodox church-chapel in Gyumri, in Armenia's Shirak region. It stands on the grounds of the old Kumayri cemetery, in the area now known as Gorky Park, at a site called the Hill of Honor — a memorial burial ground for officers and soldiers of the Russian Imperial Army killed in the 19th-century Russo-Turkish wars.

That setting gives the church its purpose: it serves the graves around it rather than standing apart from them. It's included on the list of historical and cultural monuments of Gyumri.

The church is in Gyumri, in Shirak region, about 88 km northwest of Yerevan (straight-line).
