Saint Sarkis Cathedral

Церковь Святого Саркиса · Սուրբ Սարգիս եկեղեցի

Saint Sarkis Cathedral serves as the seat of the Araratian Pontifical Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church. It was built in 1842 in what is now Yerevan's Kentron district, on the left bank of the Hrazdan River.

The church carries the name of Sarkis (Sergius), and functions today as a working cathedral for the diocese rather than a museum piece from the past.

The cathedral sits in Yerevan's Kentron district, on the left bank of the Hrazdan River — about 1 km west of the city center (straight-line).
