Sakharov Square, Yerevan, Armenia

Sakharov Square

площадь Сахарова · Սախարովի հրապարակ

Sakharov Square is a small square in Yerevan's Kentron district, formed where Nalbandyan Street meets Pushkin Street and Vardanants Street, which approach it from opposite directions. It takes its name from Andrei Sakharov (1921–1989), the Soviet physicist and human rights campaigner.

There isn't much more on record about the square itself — no monument, dates, or design details are documented here. It functions mainly as a street junction and orientation point in the city center, worth knowing by name if you're navigating this part of Kentron on foot.
