Sakoyivar

Sakoyivar rises to 3,299 meters on the northern slopes of the Vardenis mountains, in Armenia's Gegharkunik region. It sits on the watershed between the upper reaches of the Martuni and Astghadzor rivers, marking the high ground that separates their headwaters.

The peak lies about 10 km south of the village of Zolakar. Beyond its elevation and position on this river divide, little else is recorded about it — it functions here mainly as a landmark on the map of the Vardenis range rather than a destination with facilities or marked routes.

Sakoyivar sits in Gegharkunik region, within the Martuni municipal area, roughly 76 km east-southeast of Yerevan in a straight line. The nearest named settlement, Zolakar, lies about 10 km to the north.
